3d realism, astonishingly good

Today for Mario Monday, I’m happy to post something Rader would have been super excited about: this 3D video of a Mario-themed Rubik’s cube created by artist @_douglaslight_! His work is so good, I’m astonished every time I see something new he’s made. I think Rader would have enjoyed the challenge of learning to use Blender to create 3D art and videos. Did Rader have this kind of talent for realism? I don’t think so. But I do know he would have loved everything about this piece that combines so many of his passions: Mario, Rubik’s cubes, and creativity. Art moves us in a lot of ways. This piece makes me feel closer to Rader, and for that I’m thankful.

Rader would’ve loved everything about today’s #MarioMonday piece by Instagrammer _douglaslight_, who creates using the art platform #Blender3d. It’s bittersweet to come across something he’d have enjoyed learning, but didn’t get the chance. ❤️💙💛 #rubikscube #3Dart #creative pic.twitter.com/vhhS44yeMT
