#BeThe1To help them connect

If someone you know is thinking about #suicide, #BeThe1To help them connect to resources. Help them build a support system, including @800273TALK, family, friends, clergy, coaches, coworkers, or therapists. September is Suicide Prevention Month, and this is the fourth of the five action steps to help stop suicide, brought to you by #BeThe1To.

This photo with the incredible @glynndwashington was taken during a family trip to see a live performance of @snapjudgmentradio at Atlanta Symphony Hall — just a few months before Rader’s death by suicide in June 2017. Snap Judgment was one of Rader’s favorite podcasts and is still one of mine. He and I used to listen to it in the car going to and from school. Every time I hear an episode now, I wonder what he would say about the latest story.

If you are struggling, the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline '1-800-273-TALK (8255)' is available to you 24/7. I’ll share more resources throughout #SuicidePreventionMonth, and you can always find them at raderward.com/mentalhealth.

Find out how you can use the five steps to help save a life at BeThe1To.com.
