think of us on giving tuesday

Today on #GivingTuesday, help us give kids like Rader who don’t fit the traditional public school mold a chance to thrive! A #nontraditionaleducation through our #Montessori scholarship fund can literally be #lifechanging for a struggling student. Visit https://t.co/L5ekVFKHNA. pic.twitter.com/P9mFMV1MDT

mario monday sunrise

#MarioMonday sunrise at the #edgeofamerica! We spent Thanksgiving at #FollyBeach, where from the west end of the island you can see the sun rise *and* set over the water. Beautiful, peaceful, but as always, we acutely felt Rader’s absence. ❤️💙💛 #sunrise #sunset #holidaysarehard pic.twitter.com/YdGODFwVw4

are you grief-avoidant?

#Holiday season brings out my #grief avoidance behaviors! @WhatsYourGrief wrote about it: https://t.co/SXMonN1WH5. They’re also offering a ‘Coping with #HolidayGrief’ webinar recording for $10. Haven’t seen it yet but it’s on my holiday #selfcare list :https://t.co/ILVyjscMQo pic.twitter.com/cKCdHqlQnY

the wise words of adamjk

Do you know about @adamjk? He’s an artist and author, a #creative who encourages other people to be creative, and also “to be more ok with whatever we’ve got,” which I support. He has a new book: You Are Here (For Now). Follow him for words of encouragement in your Twitter feed! pic.twitter.com/tDZY1lbXTE

beautiful things take time

From @morganhnichols: “Beautiful things take time. I know it’s hard to watch so many others come into their bloom and you are wondering when beautiful things will find their way to you, but I promise you, there is so much more to you.” [1/3] pic.twitter.com/YaOJQDQrvH

“You can still have hope in this season of unknowns. You have not been forgotten here. You have not been looked over. Sure, it is taking a little longer, but this is a part of you growing stronger, so you will be prepared to bloom in the way you were meant to.” — @morganhnichols pic.twitter.com/5vuduXqmUe

we welcome your giving tuesday donations

We are so grateful if you’re able to make a donation to our #Montessori scholarship fund for #GivingTuesday! We honor Rader’s legacy by helping other kids benefit from the #nontraditionaleducation he enjoyed before switching to public school in 6th grade. https://t.co/PoEZb6kt1r pic.twitter.com/kG0JgFKBFO

it's fibonacci day

It’s #FibonacciDay in the US, because when the date is written MM/DD, it forms the beginning of the #Fibonacci sequence: 1,1,2,3. The pattern is found throughout nature in pinecones, flowers, spiral shells, etc. Celebrating the day reminds me of Rader’s love for math concepts. pic.twitter.com/xp64hTI7xS

survivors of suicide loss day

Suicide has no race, age, or culture, so there is no typical “face of #suicideloss”. But here are our faces, missing Rader on all the adventures we will ever have without him. Today is International #SurvivorsOfSuicideLoss Day. See @afspnational events at https://t.co/CRgrMU1SNu. pic.twitter.com/EoTsY7hqC3

too much to ask?

Today’s @positivepresent #Gratitude30 creative prompt word was #fun, so I made this #collage after a disappointing theater experience this week. A show we had tickets to turned out to be too dark in subject matter for us to enjoy it and we left at intermission. #selfcare pic.twitter.com/sSsvOduwgr

oven fresh: homemade bread day

I’m celebrating #HomemadeBreadDay the way I celebrate just about every day: with a tiny loaf of #noknead #bread! I mentioned yesterday that making things is part of my regular #selfcare routine. This little loaf of #dailybread is the most consistent way I practice that concept. pic.twitter.com/zPZxNglgeV

i made pajamas for my dog

What’s cuter than #dogsinpajamas? Kansas is cozy in his dinosaur jammies. #Creativity makes me happy, and making things is part of my #selfcare. Rader was the same way, so it keeps me connected to him. Pattern from #fancypetpatts. 🦕 #catchmeifyoukansas #greyhoundsoftwitter pic.twitter.com/lCI10NWy0g

Mario Monday magnet poetry

Enjoy this #MarioMonday #magnetpoetry written by my son Matt, and enhanced with Mario magnets the kids made when they were little. (#Mario by Matt; #questionmarkblock, #mariomushroom, and #goomba by Rader.) Such creative kids! I often wonder what grownup Rader would be making. pic.twitter.com/SN2XeoOmQi

celebrate world kindness day

Today on #WorldKindnessDay, I want to remind you that a word or act of #kindness can make someone’s day or even save their life. We all want to be seen and appreciated for who we are.
